Sri D. Sesha Chary is a Top Ranking Artist of All India Radio and lead singer of the dynamic duo popularly known as Hyderabad Brothers. Sri Seshachary has the distinction of being one of the most popular vocalists in Carnatic music today known for his command on sruthi in all three octaves including anu mandhra sthayi, swara, laya, and bhava along with a deep resonant voice.

He imbibed his music skills at the feet of his parents, Late Sri Sangeetha Sahitya Vidwan, Daruri Ratnamacharyulu, and mother, Smt. D. Sulochana Devi. With tutelage from parents alone at a young age, Sri Seshachary in his very early performances at a young age of 20 was given the Best Young Talent Award by the Sangeetha Nataka Akademi for two consecutive years.

As duo, Hyderabad Brothers have won several awards and titles from many reputed Institutions. Some of their awards include: The Best Vocalists in 1988, 1990 and 1991 by Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, The Best Vocalists for three consecutive years – 1990, 1991 and 1992 by Nation’s prestigious Carnatic music organization, The Music Academy, Chennai.

They were nominated as Asthana Vidwans of the Kanchi Kamakoti, Ahobila Matam. Sangeetha Kala Sagara, Sangeetha Chudamani, Gandharva Gana Kalanidhi are a few titles to name a few were concurred upon them. D. Sesha Chary is 6th generation Parampara of St. Thyagaraja though his parents.

He has set to tune several Saint Annamacharya’s songs, Saradamba krithis for Sringeri Peetam.

Most recently, Sri Seshachary as lead singer along with his brother have received

  • The Senior Outstanding Vocalist award from the Madras Music Academy in 2011.
  • Kalaratna (Hamsa) Award from Chief Minister, AP Government on 30-03-2012.
  • Central Sangeet Natak Academy Award – 2013.
  • Telangana State Award from Chief Minister, Telangana Government on 02-06-2015.
